| A referral is not necessary to see a hand therapist in most instances. If you are claiming through workers compensation then you will need a referral from your medical practitioner or treating surgeon. It is most helpful to please bring any Xrays, ultrasound reports, MRI or previous medical information to your consultation.
| Private Health insurance rebates:Hand therapy consultations may be covered by your private health fund under Occupational Therapy. Splints and braces cannot be claimed under HICAPS. In this instance payment is required at time of your consultation and can be claimed back through your health fund. |
